Pedro would have wanted to end his career at Chelsea differently after the Spanish forward dislocated his shoulder in the final moments of the FA Cup final against Arsenal (2-0 loss). The winger will run out of contract with Chelsea and he was given the opportunity to make an impact for the club he has spent the last five seasons at.
The 33-year-old replaced Christian Pulisic after 49 minutes after the American suffered an hamstring injury. In added time Pedro was chasing the ball, hoping to force an equaliser for Chelsea. He clashed with goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez and landed on his shoulder while he hit the ground.
The Spaniard immediately knew that it felt wrong and needed lengthy treatment and he was given oxygen as he was carried of the pitch on a stretcher. The injury blow will be particularly disappointing for Pedro who is due to join Roma. He has already signed a contract with the Romans but it is unclear if his shoulder injury will affect his transfer to Italy.
