Real Madrid will resume their Champions League campaign this week with their second leg against Manchester City in the round of 16. The Spanish giants will be without their star defender and club captain Sergio Ramos, who is suspended for the tie. Brazilian international Eder Militao is set to replace his captain.
The 22-year-old defender will be playing alongside Raphael Varane when they face City at the Etihad Stadium on Friday. Real will need to overturn a 2-1 defeat to reach the quarter finals, meaning Real will have to score at least two goals to reach the quarter finals. Militao is confident his side will be able to beat City and he sees himself scoring.
Militao said: “I can imagine it now, in the Champions League, in Manchester. The winning goal, with a header. But I wouldn’t know how to celebrate it… Nothing is impossible, so I’m going to go for it. Madridistas, against City we will not have our captain but I am here. I’m going to have a good match, trust me. We will be victorious.”
