A report from France Football claims that AS Monaco coach Niko Kovac has been in contact met Real Madrid forward Luka Jovic. The newly appointed head coach is keen on adding a new centre forward to his squad this summer with Wissam Ben Yedder possibly on the move and Jovic has been marked as a possible candidate.
Kovac signed Jovic for Eintracht Frankfurt in 2017 on a two-year loan deal from Benfica and the Serbian forward became one of the club’s key players. After their best season Kovac earned a transfer to Bayern Munich, while Jovic earned a big money move to Real Madrid a season later.
At Real Madrid Jovic has not lived up to the expectations as the Spanish giants are already looking to offload the forward. He made just four starts in the LaLiga this season and he has been linked with moves to AC Milan, Leicester City and Hertha Berlin in the past few weeks. Real paid Frankfurt €60m for Jovic and it is expected that the club wants to see most of that fee return to their books.
