Valencia captain Dani Parejo is on the verge of completing a transfer to Villarreal, reports Cadena Cope. The central midfielder was linked with a move away from Los Ches last month as Valencia are looking to sell a total of 12 players this summer. Negotiations between the clubs have started on Wednesday and it is believed the two parties will be closing a deal before the end of the week.
Parejo is believed to be favouring a move to the Yellow Submarine after the club finished fifth in LaLiga and secured Europa League football next season. The report also states that with Villarreal being the midfielders preferred destination and Valencia’s willingness to sell it is expected that the talks between the two clubs will result in a speedy agreement.
31-year-old Parejo joined Valencia in 2011 from Getafe and developed into one of the club’s leading players over the past few years. He has made 383 appearances for the club and during the past few years he wore the armband as he was the captain at Valencia. Parejo is de second player to leave Valencia this summer with Ferran Torres already joining Manchester City in a €25m transfer
