Bartomeu refuses to give up on Lautaro: ‘We will talk after the Champions League’

FC Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu refuses to give up on Internazionale‘s Lautaro Martinez. The Argentinian striker has been topping the club’s wanted list for months but a transfer seemed to be unlikely due to Barcelona’s financial situation. While Bartomeu stated earlier that talks are on hold, he now confirms the two clubs will meet again later this month.

“We’ll speak with Inter after the Champions League,” he admitted. “The move is completely on hold. When the Champions League is over, we’ll speak with Inter. Right now we’re more focused on the games coming up.” It is believed Barcelona will have to sell at least two or three players to generate the funds needed to sign Lautaro.

The Blaugrana president did confirm once again that the transfer of Neymar will not happen this summer. “The financial situation isn’t good. We don’t expect to complete any expensive transfers. And not just us, any side in football. Especially the big teams.” Paris Saint-Germain want at least €180m for the Brazilian.
