Fulham are ready to offer manager Scott Parker a new contract with a massive wage hike after the former England midfielder secured promotion back to the Premier League. The Cottagers beat Brentford 2-1 at Wembley to complete their return to the highest tier in English football after spending two seasons in the Championship.
Parker took over at Craven Cottage from Claudio Ranieri after the Italian was sacked. He won three games but was unable to avoid relegation. In his first full season as Fulham manager he lead them to fourth place on the table, securing a spot in the playoffs. He then achieved promotion by beating Brentford at Wembley and now Fulham want to reward their manager for his successes.
The 39-year-old Parker, a former Chelsea, West Ham, Tottenham and Fulham midfielder, was handed a two year contract in 2019. The club, however, feels that the 18-time England international, has earned a new deal and are keen to start negotiations for a new contract. Parker’s coaching staff will also be rewarded with new contracts.
