Manchester United have reportedly paid a stunning fee to help Alexis Sanchez complete his transfer to Internazionale earlier this week. A report by the Daily mails claims that the Red Devils paid the Chilean forward a total of €10m by way of compensation to mutually terminate his contract.
United and Sanchez terminated their contract on Wednesday, making it possible for Inter to complete the deal of signing Sanchez on a free transfer less than 24 hours later. The forward still had two years left on his contract at United and the club had to pay off the final two years of his contract.
With Sanchez earning a reported €550.000 a week would have meant United would pay the forward a total amount of nearly €60m in wages. Needless to say the club was very keen on cutting Sanchez of their wage bill. At the end Sanchez and Man United agreed to terminate the contract for a €10m fee.
