Liverpool are close to completing their first transfer of the summer. Goal report that Olympiakos fullback Kostas Tsimikas could be presented on Monday as the Reds look to sign a long-wanted backup for Andy Robertson, who has not faced any real competition over the past two seasons.
It is expected that the 24-year-old Greek defender will arrive at Melwood on Monday to undergo his medical before Liverpool will complete the deal. The report from Goal claims that Liverpool and Olympiakos have already agreed terms for a €12m fee for Tsimikas.
At first Liverpool were looking to sign Jamal Lewis from Norwich City. However, a deal for the talented England fullback broke down after Liverpool and Norwich failed to reach an agreement. The Greece international made 46 appearances for Olympiakos last season, helping the Greek giants win the national championship.
