Chelsea will be heading back to Amsterdam to open negotiations for Ajax duo Andre Onana and Nico Tagliafico. The pair have moved up Chelsea’s wanted list after the Blues decided not to pursue primary targets Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak and Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell anymore.
While Chelsea are still interested in signing €80m rated Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz, The Blues have decided to cool their interest in both Oblak and Chilwell due to their high asking prices. Atletico are demanding €100m for Oblak, with Leicester City holding out for at least €90m for England international Chilwell.
These asking prices have made Chelsea switch their interest to the Eredivisie duo. Onana has established himself as one of the best young goalkeepers in Europe while Tagliafico is an international for Argentina and is considered as a solid defender with attacking qualities. Reports from England claim that Ajax is asking a total of €80m for the duo.
