Fulham reject Sessegnon: ‘We won’t develop other people’s players’

Fulham will not be joining the race to sign Ryan Sessegnon this summer. The 20-year-old left winger is set to leave Tottenham Hotspur on loan after he experienced a difficult first season with the club after joining from Fulham in the summer of 2019. His former club insist that they are not interested in resigning Sessgnon.

“I am not interested”, Fulham director Tony Khan said. “Ryan already played for us in the Premier League and he didn’t do enough to keep us in there. I can’t be in the business of developing other people’s players. I expect the squad to look very similar to the one that got promoted. We won’t spend £100million again.”

The director is referring to Fulham‘s transfer activity two years ago after they were promoted to the Premier League as well. The Cottagers signed almost an entire new squad to help them avoid relegation. Despite spending a record total amount of money Fulham failed and were relegated from the Premier League at the end of that season.
