Blaise Matuidi is set to join Inter Miami following the completion of his medical. Several outlets have reported that the French midfielder has already agreed personal terms to join the club of his former teammate David Beckham. Matuidi has a clause in his contract at Juventus that will allow him to join the MLS club on a free transfer.
The 2018 World Cup winner joined Juventus in 2017 from Paris Saint-Germain and established himself as a first team regular for the Bianconeri. He would play a total of 133 games for the club, scoring eight goals and winning the Serie A in each of the three season he would play for the club as well as a Coppa Italia in 2018.
At Inter Miami Matuidi will become the club’s first marquee player in the club’s history. The new Major League Soccer franchise are seeking to lift their 2020 MLS campaign after losing all five of their first competitive matches. In the MLS is Back tournament Inter Miami also lost all group matches, being knocked out in the group stages.
