Real Madrid agrees terms with Dortmund over two-year loan deal

Real Madrid wonderkid Reinier is looking to join German club Borussia Dortmund on a two-season loan. Spanish outlet AS have reported that the last details of the transfer are currently being discussed by Madrid and Dortmund. Earlier on Lucien Favre already confirmed that his club was close on signing Reinier on loan.

Reinier joined Real Madrid last January after he turned 18 and the attacking midfielder is considered as one of the brightest talents in the world. At first Madrid wanted to send Reinier on loan to a Spanish club to have him obtain a Spanish nationality but they have changed their stance believing that a move to Dortmund would be too good to turn down.

The young midfielder made his debut in professional football for Flamengo and eventually made eight appearances for the first team, scoring six goals. The Brazilians went on to win both the Copa Libertadores and the Brazilian championship last year. Reinier has a long-term contract in the Spanish capital until the summer of 2027.

The deal is similar to that of Achraf Hakimi, who moved to the Bundesliga side two seasons ago and established himself as one of the best young fullbacks in Europe. He could have returned to Real Madrid this summer but decided to pen a multi-year contract at Internazionale due to the lack of first team prospects at Madrid next season.
