Donny van de Beek is on his way to Manchester United. The Ajax midfielder was left out of the club’s preseason game against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday and also missed Ajax‘ match against Union Berlin on Sunday. Ajax coach Erik ten Hag already revealed that there have been ‘some developments’ around Van de Beek and it now seems that the midfielder has already told his teammates he is moving to United.
Several reports from the UK and Holland report that the midfielder is set to join United on a multi-year deal. He has already agreed personal terms with the Red Devils and he is now waiting for the clubs to reach an agreement. Ajax want at least €55m for the talented midfielder and it is unclear if United have already made an offer.
Signing Van de Beek could be a blow for FC Barcelona, who are also interested in signing Van de Beek. Newly appointed head coach Ronald Koeman has worked with Van de Beek at the Dutch national team and he was reportedly keen on bringing the Dutch international along with him to Barcelona. In the meantime the Blaugranas have been linked with Liverpool ace Georginio Wijnaldum and it is possible that the Spanish club has put a move for Wijnaldum ahead of a transfer for Van de Beek.
