Zlatan Ibrahimovic has signed a new contract with AC Milan, the club has confirmed on their official website. The veteran Swedish striker has put pen to paper under a new one-year contract with the Rossoneri and he will start with preseason training with an immediate effect.
“AC Milan is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement for the contract renewal of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, extending the partnership with the Rossoneri Club until 30 June 2021,” the club said in a statement. Zlatan rejoined Milan in January following a free transfer from LA Galaxy.
Soon after the striker signed his six month contract he suffered an injury at it was feared he would be unable to finish the season. Because of the league postponement due to the coronavirus Ibrahimovic returned to full fitness in time for the league to be resumed in June. He then helped Milan to finish in sixth place with some impressive performances. At the end of the season he scored 12 goals in 17 appearances.
