Kai Havertz has failed to show up for Bayer Leverkusen’s preseason medical tests on Sunday ahead of their return to team training on Monday. But in contract to Lionel Messi refusing to show up for medical tests at FC Barcelona, it seems that Leverkusen have given Havertz permission to sit out the medical tests as the attacking midfielder is on his way to Chelsea.
Havertz’ agent has rejected to comment on the matter and according to Kicker that is a massive hint that the transfer to Chelsea is drawing near. Havertz completed two tests for coronavirus in Leverkusen on Friday and Saturday, which returned negative, allowing the 21-year-old to join up with his international teammates on Monday.
With Havertz linking up with his teammates at the German national team it will be waiting on confirmation of his transfer to Chelsea. It is believed that the two clubs have agreed a transfer fee of €100m, incuding bonuses and that Havertz is ready to sign a five-year contract with the club. It is expected that Havertz will be a Chelsea player after the matches in the Nations League later this week.
