Alexandre Lacazette - Arsenal

Lacazette hits out at the media: ‘Only the press say that I’m unhappy’

Alexandre Lacazette has hit out at the media after scoring for Arsenal in their 3-0 win over Fulham on Saturday. The France forward has been heavily linked with a move away from the Gunners as reports emerged that Lacazette was unhappy at the Emirates. He has been linked with moves to Juventus and Atletico Madrid but the France international has dismissed those rumours.

After the game against Fulham, Lacazette told reporters: “I am really happy. It’s only the press that says I’m not happy. From the beginning I’ve said I am happy at Arsenal and I want to play and win titles. We won a title last month so I am happy with Arsenal.” Lacazette joined Arsenal in 2017 from Olympique Lyon and has been in and out of the team since his arrival at the Emirates.

Lacazette insists that he is motivated to be on his top for the club. “Yes, for the team, for the club. We have a lot of big ambition. We know Auba is going to score a lot of goals this season. I want to help the team to be on top, I know it’s my job. It’s not for me to [just] play and do the link-ups so I will try and do my best this season.”
