Jude Bellingham became the youngest ever player to score a goal for Borussia Dortmund on Monday after the English midfielder scored a goal in his club’s 5-0 win over Duisburg in the first round of the DFB Pokal. The 17-year-old made his debut for the Germans following his €25m move from Birmingham City earlier this summer.
This is the second time for Bellingham that he has become the youngest goal scorer at a club after he scored a goal for Birmingham last season. The midfielder is currently 17 years and 77 days old and has beaten the old record held by Nuri Sahin by five days. The former midfielder was 17 years and 82 days old when he scored his first goal for Dortmund.
Jadon Sancho also found the net against Duisburg and that also set a new milestone for Dortmund as this was the first time two English players featured and scored a goal for the club. After the first 45 minutes Bellingham was taken off the pitch as Lucien Favre decided to change his midfield. Thorgan Hazard, Giovanni Reyna and Marco Reus completed the score for Dortmund.
