Manchester City defender Nicolas Otamendi has agreed to leave the club this summer. The 32-year-old Argentinian has held talks with Pep Guardiola over the past week and at the end he has accepted that he has not future at the Etihad Stadium. La Republica report that Otamendi is on his way to join Internazionale, who are looking to sign a new central defender.
Inter are set to say their farewells to Diego Godin who is on his way to Cagliari. The Nerazzuri have been alerted by the news Otamendi would become available and are reportedly already preparing an offer for the Argentina international. The report from Italy claims that Inter will be offering the City defender a three-year contract worth €4m-a-year, which is around €3m less than his salary at City.
It is, however, believed that the defender is ready to accept the wage cut in order to find regular playing time again. Otamendi joined City in a €45m transfer from Valencia and started off as a first-team regular. Under Pep Guardiola the Argentinian was slowly dropped from the team while injuries did not work in his favour. In total he has made 210 appearances for the club, scoring 11 goals.
