Lucas Vazquez has delighted his club Real Madrid after the Spaniard has decided to reject a massive contract in Qatar. The ‘utility player’ wants to fight for his chances at Madrid and has therefore decided to stay with the LaLiga giants. Spanish media suggest that while Vazquez is still open to receive offers, he is keen on starting the new season at Madrid.
Vazquez has entered the final year of his contract and Real have already confirmed to the player that he will not be offered a new contract at the time. Despite Vazquez not having any chances to sign a new deal, the Spanish international wants to prove to Zinedine Zidane what he has to offer. Vazquez has been a fringe player at Real for the past few years.
The 29-year-old has made 206 appearances for Madrid and he scored 24 goals and provided 46 assists. Vazquez mainly acted as a substitute while at the club but he is highly appreciated for his versatility. Over the past few seasons Vazquez has been used as a left and right winger but has he also played matches as right-back and as a striker.
