Juventus have been growing pessimistic over a move of FC Barcelona forward Luis Suarez. The Uruguayan is struggling to obtain an Italian passport and the club now fear that they will not be able to complete the transfer before the end of the transfer window on October 6. Juventus and Suarez have already agreed terms while it has also been reported that Juve and Barcelona agreed the transfer terms.
However, the 33-year-old’s move to the Serie A giants has been delayed as the process of securing Italian citizenship is taking longer than expected. Goal reports that Juventus are now unsure if they will be able to complete the move for Suarez in time for the new season starts and possibly even missing out on the transfer deadline on October 6.
Suarez will have to receive an Italian passport as Juventus already used up all of their non-EU spots in the squad. If the problems for obtaining the correct documents keep on delaying, Juventus might be dropping their interest in Suarez and switching to other targets. AS Roma’s Edin Dzeko has also been put forward as a transfer target for Juventus.
