Alexandre Lacazette is happy to see Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has signed a new three-year deal with the club. The Gabon striker announced his new contract in a live chat on social media with thousands of fans watching the video. One of the ‘fans’ watching was Lacazette, who has a strong relationship with Aubameyang on and off the pitch.
While watching the video Lacazette wrote: “I can go to sleep now.” The French forward took a tiny dig at the length of the discussions between Aubameyang and Arsenal. The two sides had been negotiating a new deal for months but eventually agreed on a new deal. Reports have claimed that Aubameyang will earn around €20m-per-season.
The 31-year-old striker arrived in January 2018 from Borussia Dortmund and the forward has made a huge impact on the club since joining. He has scored 72 goals in 111 appearances. His arrival has dropped Lacazette down the pecking order but the former Olympique Lyon striker still has some decent statistics as he has scored 49 goals in 128 appearances for the club.
