Jose Mourinho wants to shop at his old club Manchester United as the Portuguese manager has marked Jesse Lingard as the ideal replacement for Dele Alli. Tottenham Hotspur are looking to offload Alli this transfer window as the England international has a poor relationship with Mourinho. The attacking midfielder has been left out of the Spurs squad for two matches in a row and looks to be out on his way to the exit at the club.
Paris Saint-Germain have been put forward as a possible destination for Alli but it has now also been suggested that Spurs and Man United could be looking at a player plus cash deal. Lingard has also fallen out of favour at his club and he wasn’t selected for United’s first game of the season against Crystal Palace. The club is actively looking to sell Lingard, who has entered the final year of his contract at United.
Several reports from England suggest that Tottenham and United could be exploring the possibilities to close a player plus cash deal. United will then pay €30m and add Lingard into the deal to sign Alli from Tottenham. A report by ESPN claims that Russian giants Zenit St. Petersburg are also interested in signing Lingard if he becomes available for a fee under €20m.
