Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been tested positive on the coronavirus, AC Milan have confirmed on Thursday. The Italians completed a second round of tests ahead of their Europa League match against Bodo/Glimt on Thursday and at the tests Ibrahimovic has been tested positive. Zlatan has gone into self isolation for the next two weeks.
The statement on the official website of Milan read: “Zlatan Ibrahimovic has tested positive for Covid-19 following a second round of swab tests ahead of tonight’s game against Bodø/Glimt. The Club has informed the relevant authorities and the player has been promptly placed in quarantine at home. All other team members and staff have tested negative.”
The 39-year-old striker signed a one-year contract with Milan in August after he initially left them on a free transfer several weeks earlier. Ibrahimovic has been in great form for the Italians since his return, having scored three of Milan’s four goals this season. Last week against Shamrock Rovers (2-0 win) he scored one goal and on Monday he scored two goals against Bologna.
