Dele Alli will not feature for Tottenham Hotspur against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup fourth round. The England international has only started one match this season in the Premier League and was used as a substitute in the Europa League last week. Despite Tottenham’s tight schedule, Jose Mourinho has decided to leave Alli out of his squad for the tie with Chelsea.
The Portuguese boss told reporters he is ready to rotate his squad over the next few weeks as Tottenham will play in the Europa League on Thursday, only 48 hours after the game with Chelsea. During the weekend the Spurs will then finish a very busy September with a Premier Leage game against Mourinho’s former club Manchester United.
And despite the busy schedule Mourinho has decided to drop Alli from his squad once again. This has added to the rumours that the midfielder is likley to leave Tottenham in the final week of the summer transfer window. Paris Saint-Germain are believed to be interested in signing Alli, but the French club is having troubles gathering the needed funds to sign Alli this summer.
