Olympique Lyon have completed the signing of Lucas Paqueta from AC Milan. The Brazilian midfielder, touted as the new Ricardo Kaka when he joined Milan, has signed a contract until the summer of 2025 at Lyon. The clubs have not made any comments on the transfer fee but reports from France have claimed that Lyon have paid Milan a €20m transfer fee.
“The trip to Lyon went well. I’m ready to be completely devoted to this OL team”, Paqueta told the official website. “This club is very popular in Brazil. They are known for being welcoming to Brazilians and for their history with them. I watched the Champions League this summer and was impressed by OL’s matches in Lisbon. I admired the work this team did. I was impressed.”
“I am happy to have confidence of the president and Juninho. When he contacted me, I liked the project. I am a player who gives everything, every day in training. I am young, I have a lot to learn. I want to adapt as quickly as possible. I want to help in the midfield and also get forward. I will give my best for this club. I am at the coach’s disposal. I still don’t know about the match against OM on Sunday. I can’t wait to train.”
