Bayern Munich has interest in signing Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea, says Hansi Flick. The English winger has been linked with a move to the German giants in recent weeks after it was suggested that Hudson-Odoi wanted to leave Chelsea due to his limited chances on the first team. Flick has now confirmed that his club has interest but also insists that nothing is going on at the moment.
There have been many speculations on the future of Hudson-Odoi after he only featured in 22 Premier League games for Chelsea last season and just one game post-lockdown. With the arrival of Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner and Kai Havertz his playing time looked to be further minimalised and it has been suggested that Bayern have re-ignited the interest they already had in the winger in the January window in 2019.
There are three days left in the summer transfer window and Bayern will have to make haste if they want to sign Hudson-Odoi. “I don’t know what will happen”, Flick told a news conference when he was asked about a potential last minute move for Hudson-Odoi. “But he is one of the biggest talents in his position. So it is normal that a club like Bayern deals with him.” Bayern are looking to sign Hudson-Odoi on loan with an option to sign him on a permanent deal next summer.
