Good news for FC Barcelona in their pursuit of Manchester City defender Eric Garcia. Fulham have interest in signing Jean-Clair Todibo and according to the Guardian the Cottagers are preparing an offer in the €18m to €20m range. Barcelona would welcome the bid as they need to generate funds to make an offer for City defender Garcia.
At first it was suggested that Everton were in the lead to sign Todibo. The Toffees, however, only wanted to sign the defender on a season-long loan without an option to buy. Barcelona rejected the offer as they were looking to sell. With Everton out of the picture Fulham look to be the only club interested in signing Todibo before the end of the transfer window.
If Barcelona manages to sell Todibo before the end of the transfer window they will be able to use these funds to sign a player of their own. With €20m in their pocket they should be able to use these funds to complete the transfer of Garcia from Man City. The English club has put a €20m asking price around his neck. Olympique Lyon forward Memphis Depay has also been linked with Barcelona.
