Klopp wary on Champions League draw: ‘They are all good teams’

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says he is expecting a tight group in the Champions League after the UEFA completed the draw for the Group Stage on Thursday. The defending Premier League champions have been drawn into Group D alongside Atalanta, Ajax and FC Midtjylland. Klopp has given a reaction on the draw and the German has a lot of respect for his opponents.

“All the teams who are in the draw, they are really good teams,” said Klopp. “Atalanta were the surprise team in Italy and have settled in that position – started really well again. Ajax is famous for sensational youth development and football.” Liverpool will be opening their 2020-21 campaign with an away game at Dutch giants Ajax.

Liverpool are hoping to reclaim their Champions League title after their were surprisingly knocked out of the tournament in the round of 16 by Atletico Madrid. With the Reds already out of the Carabao Cup after a loss against Arsenal on penalties, all eyes will be on Liverpool in the Champions League. The Reds will end their group stage campaign with an away game in Denmark against FC Midtjylland.
