Chelsea defender Toni Rudiger has urged his club to allow him to join Tottenham Hotspur before the end of the transfer window. The German defender has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge and he is keen on leaving the club to play regular first team football ahead of the postponed European Championships in the summer of 2021.
Rudiger has caught the interest of several big clubs in Europe, including FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain but it believed that he wants to join Tottenham. The defender doesn’t want to leave London and has now reportedly asked his club to accept an offer from their city rivals Tottenham, who are still looking to add a central defender to their squad.
Spurs have been in talks with Internazionale about a move for Milan Skriniar but these talks have not progressed very well. That has made Tottenham switch their interest to Rudiger but the Athletic suggests that Chelsea are reluctant to see the defender join a direct rival for a top four finish in the Premier League and would rather see him complete a permanent move outside of England.
