Antonio Rudiger has set his sights on a move to AC Milan, reports Tuttosport. The German defender is on his way out of the exit at Chelsea as has dropped down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge. There had been rumours that Rudiger wanted to stay in London but it now appears that he is more than happy to complete a return to the Serie A on the final day of the transfer window.
Rudiger spent two seasons at AS Roma and it is reported that he would love to return to the Serie A. The German international has spent the last three seasons at Chelsea and he earns around €5m-per-season. Milan and Chelsea have opened talks on a potential loan move and are currently discussing the terms of Rudiger’s salary.
Milan will be paying the defender’s wages in full and the loan deal will not include an option to buy. Chelsea would like to offload Rudiger on a permanent transfer but the Blues are aware that a transfer would be difficult at this point. Clearing out their wage budget by saving an additional €5m is good enough for Chelsea at this point.
