Luis Suarez completed a transfer to Atletico Madrid two weeks ago after he was told by his club FC Barcelona he did not feature in their plans anymore. Several reports from France and Spain, including Telefoot and Marca, have now reported that Paris Saint-Germain tried to hi-jack a deal from Atletico for Suarez. The Uruguayan, however, already agreed to join Atletico and kept his word.
The veteran striker had been linked with several moves across Europe after it confirmed Barcelona wanted to offload the forward. Juventus and Ajax were interested in signing the forward and he also received offers from the Major League Soccer. At the end he decided he wanted to join Atletico. PSG did make an offer but saw their offer being rejected by Suarez.
Later on Barcelona and PSG did agree on the transfer of Brazilian international Rafinha. The midfielder joined the French club on the final day of the transfer window on a free transfer. The French side, however, will be due a €3m fee if Rafinha meets certain performance related variables and Barcelona have also included a 15 per cent sell on clause into the deal.
