Internazionale have confirmed that Ashley Young has been tested positive on coronavirus. The Italians have released as statement that the English defender tested positive during the last mandatory tests on Saturday. Young has moved into self-isolation and will not be available for the next two weeks and he will miss the Milan derby against AC Milan.
In a statement on their official website, Inter wrote: “FC Internazionale Milano announce that Ashley Young tested positive for COVID-19 following the tests carried out yesterday at Appiano Gentile,” the statement read. “The English player is already in quarantine at home.”
Young joined Inter in January from Manchester United and he has been a regular first-team player under Antonio Conte. Young is the sixth Inter player who has been tested positive, with Alessandro Bastoni, Milan Skriniar, Radja Nainggolan, Roberto Gagliardini and Ionut Radu are already on the list of absentees with COVID-19.
