Bayern Munich technical director Hasan Salihadmidzic has responded to the rumours circling around David Alaba. The 28-year-old Austrian defender has an expiring contract and negotiations for a new contract have not been progressing very well. Salihadmidzic, however, firmly believes that the German giants will be able to convince Alaba to sign an extension.
“David has been here for twelve years and has become one of us. We will not give him an ultimatum and we will not play games with him,” said the Bayern director during the presentation of Deadline Day purchases Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Bouna Sarr. “We know what we can do with David and we are going to do everything we can to win him over.”
Alaba has developed through the youth academy at Bayern and made his senior debut for the club in 2010. Since then he has established himself as one of the best defenders in the world and he has made 389 official appearances for Bayern, winning nine Bundesliga titles, six DFB Pokals and two Champions Leagues.
