Germany managed to overcome a 2-0 gap against Switzerland in the Nations League in a match that ended in a 3-3 draw. While the European giants did not manage to win the match, Chelsea star Kai Havertz was happy with the way his team played after they went behind. Havertz hailed his side’s character for not dropping their heads after first going down 2-0 before falling behind again later on in the match.
“We came back after several setbacks and showed some character. We’re in the middle of a process and we’re a young side,” Havertz said to the Germany FA’s website. “We won’t allow ourselves to be knocked off course and we will carry on as we are. We need to defend better, but there were plenty of positives on show tonight.”
After the 3-3 against Switzerland, Germany are now in second place in Group 4 of the A League with a total of six points. Spain are the current leaders, even though they suffered a surprising 1-0 loss away at Ukraine. The Eastern European country now also has six points and are only behind Germany on goal difference. Next month Germany will play Ukraine and Spain.
