Neymar has surpassed Ronaldo on the all-time top goal scorers list of Brazil. The Paris Saint-Germain forward netted three goals for his country on Tuesday night against Peru and with his goals he passed the legendary striker on the list. The 28-year-old moved to 64 goals in 103 matches.
Ronaldo scored 62 goals in 98 games in a career that laster 17 years with the national team. As an international he has won two World Cups and a Copa America. At this point Neymar only has the legendary Pele ahead of him on the list. The former World Cup winner has scored 77 goals during his career for Brazil.
The hat-trick for Neymar is a bit of a relief for the striker after an action-packed start of the season. He started by testing positive on the coronavirus before being sent off in a Ligue 1 match against Olympique Marseille. He was banned for two matches. The game for Brazil against Peru was his first match for his country in 11 months.
