Joe Roden is looking to become a Tottenham Hotspur player before the end of the English transfer window. Several reports from England have claimed that there has been a breakthrough in the talks between Spurs and Swansea City on Friday. Rodon is likely to sign a long-term contract at the Premier League club.
The 22-year-old Welsh international is an academy product of Swansea and the Swans are reportedly demanding €20m for Rodon. Spurs don’t agree with that valuation and have offered a €16.5m transfer fee. With time running down both clubs need to come closer to each other if a deal is made before the end of the transfer window.
The reports claim that Spurs and Swansea are likely to agree a straight-forward cash deal without any clauses, add ons or bonuses added to the deal. A transfer, however, could still collapse during the final hours as Swansea are actively looking to sign a replacement for Rodon and there are looking for a defender with Premier League experience.
UPDATE: Spurs complete signing of Joe Roden from Swansea
