Juventus have returned as serious contenders to sign Houssem Aouar from Olympique Lyon next summer, reports CalcioMercato. The Lyon playmaker has emerged as one of the hottest players on the transfer market after it was made known that Real Madrid and Arsenal were both very keen on signing him. Juventus’ name had also been put forward but it was thought that they had dropped their interest.
However, the report from Italy now suggests that Juventus are ready to return to Lyon next summer and it is believed that are willing to match any bids made by both Arsenal and Madrid. The 22-year-old is one of the biggest prospects in Europe and Lyon are asking around €55m for their star midfielder and Juventus would be able to meet those demands.
Madrid and Arsenal, however, could be missing out on Aouar as both clubs may not have the funds needed to sign the midfielder. Madrid are seriously considering to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe, a transfer that could cost the club up to €200m. Arsenal simply don’t have the funds available, especially if the coronavirus lockdown continues to keep the fans away from the stadiums.
