Manchester City will be without star midfielder Kevin de Bruyne this weekend against Arsenal. Spanish manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed the Belgian will miss the clash against his former assistant Mikel Arteta. De Bruyne suffered the injury while on international duty as he was withdrawn early during Belgium’s 2-1 defeat at Wembley against England.
“Unfortunately Kevin is out, but the rest of the players came back from international duty well,” Guardiola told reporters during the club’s weekly press conference on Friday. “I don’t think it’s serious, but the next games I think he will be out. We will see. I don’t know how long for. I can’t answer because I don’t know.”
City are having injury troubles in the attacking department as the club will miss Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus. The injury for De Bruyne is yet another blow for Guardiola as the Spaniard is looking to grab their second win of the season against Arsenal. City have played three games so far and have already dropped five points.
