Manchester United fans may have to wait to seen any of the club’s deadline transfer signings as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted the new players will not be available against Newcastle United on Saturday. United signed Alex Telles from FC Porto and Facundo Pellistri from Penarol but the new players will most likely sit out the match against the Magpies.
Edinson Cavani has already been ruled out of the match due to the quarantine rules involving the coronavirus. Talking to MUTV, Solskjaer says the new players are doubtful. “Alex has travelled all round the world. He flew overnight and got here on Thursday.” Telles was with the Brazilian national team during the international break.
As for Pellistri, he noted: “He’s a young boy coming from Uruguay. It’s the tradition we have here where we want to bring young players in and let them grow and develop and become the player they can be. Of course, we’ll give him time. He’s more one for the future than now, but he’s exciting and he’s shown some things in training that we don’t really have here. I’m looking forward to helping him develop and helping him settle.”
