Wolverhampton Wanderers star striker Raul Jimenez has admitted he could be in his final year at the Premier League club. The 29-year-old Mexican international enjoyed an impressive 2019-20 campaign and that earned him links to some of the world’s biggest clubs, including Real Madrid, Manchester United and Juventus. A move wasn’t pushed through and Jimenez is set to at least one more season at Molineux.
The club then rewarded the Mexican for his development with a new contract but that has not withheld Jimenez from speculating on his own future. “I was on my days off, on holiday, and every day that I woke up I was at a new club. It was just rumours, that’s it,” he told Sky Sports. “I’m happy here and happy to stay here.”
“You always have to keep doors open for everything but never lose your mind. It’s going to be like this for all the transfer windows”, he added. “If I stay, I’m very happy and I’m going to keep playing the same. If I have to leave, well it’s going to be part of it. We are professional football players and it is part of our life.” Jimenez has scored two goals in four matches this season.
