Real Madrid will not be allowed to talk to Giovanni Reyna, reports AS. His club Borussia Dortmund have told the Spanish giants that the 17-year-old is not for sale at any price, even though his contract will expire in the summer of 2021. Dortmund are currently working on a new long-term contract for the attacking midfielder and hope to agree a new deal in November.
Reyna has emerged as one of the bright young stars in European football an he has been impressing for the Germans this season as he scored one goal and four assists in the Bundesliga. The interest in Reyna is high but Dortmund are adamant of keeping the wonderkid on board for the next few seasons. Dortmund executive Hans-Joachim Watzke has told Madrid firmly that they have no chance of signing Reyna.
The American joined Dortmund in 2019 on a short-term youth contract. He started at the reserves but managed to grab hold of a first-team spot as the season progressed. He is now considered as a regular starter and Dortmund are planning to reward him for his development. He will be able to sign a full-time contract once he is 18 in November and Dortmund hope to tie him down on a long-term deal.
