Unai Emery has revealed that Kylian Mbappe wanted to join Real Madrid when he was the coach of Paris Saint-Germain. The current Villarreal boss enjoyed a two-year spell with the Parisians and he has now revealed on Cadena Cope that during his time in Paris Mbappe actually wanted to leave the club to join Real in the period between 2016 and 2018.
The French forward has been linked with a move to Real ever since he made his debut for AS Monaco in 2016. While he then decided to join PSG and sign a long-term contract with the Parisians, he has never made it a secret that his favourite club is Real. Many reports have claimed that Mbappe could be moving to Spain in the summer of 2021.
He will then enter the final year of his contract at PSG and he has reportedly told the club he will not be signing a contract extension as he has set his sights on joining Madrid. Mbappe has netted 94 goals in 128 games for PSG and was the top scorer in Ligue 1 in the 2018/19 with 32 strikes to his name.
