Bayern Munich have confirmed that star player Serge Gnabry has been tested positive for the coronavirus. The German international is in good health and has gone in self-isolation. Gnabry will miss Bayern’s clash with Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Gnabry played a little over an hour for Bayern last weekend in their 4-1 trashing of Arminia Bielefeld on Saturday. On Saturday Bayern will face Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga and it expected that Gnabry will have to sit out that match as well unless he will test negative on the virus later this week.
After the weekend Bayern will play in the Champions League again and this time they will make a trip to Russia to face CSKA Moscow. Gnabry scored 23 goals in 46 games in all competitions last season, and also began this campaign by netting three in a 8-0 thrashing of Schalke 04 on the opening day of the Bundesliga season.
