An injury blow for Leeds United as the club has confirmed that star player Kalvin Phillips will be out for at least four to six weeks with a shoulder injury. The England international has suffered the injury on Monday night in their 1-0 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers. The newly promoted side were beaten 1-0 at Elland Road after a late striker from Raul Jimenez.
The club released a statement on the injury: “Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips suffered a shoulder injury in last night’s Premier League defeat to Wolves at Elland Road. Whilst we are pleased to confirm that surgery is not required, the Leeds-born England International could still face up to six weeks on the sidelines.”
The club has confirmed that the midfielder has already started his recovery and he has been working with the club’s physios. The 24-year-old Phillips has developed himself through the youth academy at Leeds and he has already earned three caps for the national team. For Leeds he has made six appearances this season, providing one assist up until this point.
