Eric García is not planning on accepting any offers from Manchester City to sign a new contract with the club. The Spanish defender has an expiring contract and has often been linked with a move back to FC Barcelona, where he spent most of his youth career. Barcelona Made several offers during the summer and all of the offers were rejected by City.
After the deadline had passed Pep Guardiola confirmed he wanted to try and convince Garcia to stay. According to the Sun the Spanish defender is not planning to listen to the offer from City as he has set his sight on completing a return to Barcelona in either January or next summer on a free transfer.
Garcia had his breakout season with City this year and the 19-year-old has made 27 appearances for the club since his debut. The defender has started most of City’s games and played the full ninety minutes in their two last games. His breakout at City also earned him a call-up for the Spanish national team and he has collected two caps for his country.
