France boss Didier Deschamps believes that Paul Pogba isn’t happy at Manchester United at the moment. The midfielder has been left on the bench and is playing outside of his best position. Pogba has only started twice in the last seven games for United since the 6-1 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last month. Pogba has been playing on the flanks for United and that has not been good for the midfielder’s form this season.
Deschamps was asked on the current situation of Pogba after the France boss decided to call him up for the upcoming international fixtures. “I know Paul well and he knows the squad well. He finds himself in a situation with his club that he can’t be happy about, neither in terms of his playing time nor his position,” Deschamps told France Football.
“He’s not at his best, he’s had a string of injuries and Covid-19 has also affected him adversely. He needs to rediscover his rhythm.” Rumours on Pogba’s future at United have also intensified in recent weeks. The midfielder has been flirting with Real Madrid stating that it would be a ‘dream’ to play for them. Juventus has also been looking at the midfielder in recent weeks.
