Kevin de Bruyne has praised his Manchester City teammate Phil Foden as the Belgian attacking midfielder believes that the England International has the potential to become one of the best players in the world. The 20-year-old has been impressing this season and he continued his great form for England by scoring two goals against Iceland on Wednesday.
Foden has been with City since he was a youth player and he made his debut for the club when he was 16. Over the past few years his role with the team has grown and he has been getting more regular football. This season he has been a first-team regular and he has started in five of City’s first eight games of the season. And De Bruyne has been impressed with the midfielders talent.
“He’s doing really well, Phil,” De Bruyne told ESPN. “He’s been with us for three, four years. He’s still a young man, but he’s playing regularly. He’s playing really well, he’s evolving, so he needs to keep doing that. In a couple of years, if he goes the right way, he’ll become one of the best players in the world if he wants to.”
