Paul Pogba will have every reason to be considering his options if he continues to be stuck on the bench at Manchester United, says Michael Owen. The France international has lost his position on the starting XI under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and there have been rumours that the midfielder wants to leave the club. Owen says he would understand Pogba if he wants to leave United.
“United have still to find their rhythm and they must find a way to get their best players all on the pitch at the same time, which is obviously easier said than done”, the former Man United striker told Metro. “You can’t keep Pogba on the bench, and if he can’t secure a regular place in the side soon, he may have to consider his options.”
Pogba’s contract runs out in the summer of 2022 and during the summer United were planning to offer him a new contract after a strong comeback in the final part of the 2019-20 season. However, with his loss of form in the new campaign it will be interesting to see if United still want Pogba to extend his contract or that they will try to sell the midfielder next summer.
