Hansi Flick has praised Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer for his performances for the club this season. The veteran goalkeeper managed to put in yet another impressive display for Bayern as they ran out clear winners over Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League (3-1). Neuer made some excellent saves during the match and that earned the praise of his coach.
Neuer has been in great form all season for Bayern, making some fantastic saves in both the Bundesliga and the Champions League. Flick was quick to hail the 34-year-old. “Manu has been playing sensationally for over a year,” he told Sky Sports. “With him, the goal for the striker is getting smaller and smaller. He is in the form of his life. He is an insane professional and very focused on his job.”
Despite the heroics of Neuer, Flick wasn’t too happy about the performances of his team after the first match against Salzburg was won 6-2. “We made our way a little difficult because we lost a lot of balls,” he added. “The ball losses must not happen like this. That is insecurity and recklessness. Of course, we have personnel problems at the moment. It got better in the second half. I’m satisfied with the efficiency and, of course, we have a world-class goalkeeper at the back.”
