Zinedine Zidane - Real Madrid

Real Madrid boss happy to see players bounce back after CL loss

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane was happy to see his players bounce back from their mid-week defeat against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League. The Spanish giants recorded a small 1-0 victory over Sevilla in LaLiga as Real returned in the top three on the table. After the game Zidane was asked if the Real players ‘pick their matches’ in which to perform this season, with the French boss blasting these suggestions.

“This team has got a lot of character. I don’t think the same way as you, but it’s true that there are moments when playing every 3 days at a high level, from time to time it’s difficult for us. In the end that will always happen to us because we never stop. The important thing is to recover well and switch out focus to the next game because this isn’t going to slow up. Every match is going to be important for us and we know that from time to time things wont go our way and we have to correct some things. When we fix things we can be very competitive like today”.

Asked if critics have been unfair on the team, he added: “That’s the way it is. It’s not going to change much. We know that when you don’t do well and you lose, there will be criticism. We have to take the positives from what we did today. We’re happy and are looking for some consistency. The rest won’t change.”
